Admission to the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum, Museum of Mississippi History, and special exhibitions is free every Sunday.
Closed on Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day.
COVID safety precautions include requiring all visitors to wear masks and observe social distancing guidelines. Masks are available on site. All public spaces have been sanitized, and thorough cleaning continues every day. Staff are on site to ensure that social distancing guidelines are maintained.
Directions and Parking
From I-55 North in Jackson
- Take the Pearl Street Exit.
- Use the right two lanes to travel to the State Street intersection.
- Take a right on State Street traveling past the Old Capitol Museum.
- Take the first right onto Amite Street.
- Take the first left onto North Street.
- The Museum will be on your right, just past the Winter Building.
Street parking is available on North Street. The museum parking garage is accessed from Jefferson Street between Amite and Mississippi Street. ADA accessible parking is available in the museum parking garage.
Mississippi Museum Store
The Mississippi Museum Store offers one of the state’s finest collections of folk art, local handmade crafts, and books by and about Mississippians. The store also carries the new state flag and other products featuring the design.

The Mississippi Museum Store is open Tuesday–Saturday from 9 a.m.–4:30 p.m., Sunday from 1–4:30 p.m., and closed on Monday. For more information, call 601-576-6921.

Group Visits
Groups of families, college students, seniors, and other adults with 10 or more people may receive the group admission rate for entrance to the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum, Museum of Mississippi History, and special exhibitions.
